October 18-21, 2024, Woodland Park Zoo, Seattle
The Forum will bring together Indigenous forest stewards and knowledge-keepers for five days to share ceremonies, experience and expertise, strategies, resources, networks, and develop avenues for collective action on climate change, environmental justice and threats to forest biodiversity. The Forum will bring together Indigenous participants from temperate forests (Russian Far East, Alaska, Washington State), boreal forests (Canada), and tropical forests (Brazil, Ecuador, Columbia, and Papua New Guinea). The event will be held at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle and will include four days of invitation-only discussions among the participants, a public event, and a press conference.
