Summer 2025

Se’Si’Le will inaugurate a field school in the Summer of 2025 on San Juan Island and Orcas Island for students and faculty from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The field school will introduce the participants to Indigenous ancestral knowledge and ways of knowing nature and its personhood, and how to use this knowledge preserve natural and cultural heritage landscapes and seascapes. The collaboration also includes Se’Si’Le leading seminars and participating in public events at MIT. It is the vanguard of future collaborations with additional institutions of higher learning.
